Hi everyone, hope you have been enjoying my shoulder video series. In this video on shoulder pain exercises, I show you the final scapular stabilization exercise for improving shoulder girdle strength and motor control. There are lots of additional exercises for strengthening the shoulder girdle, but I wanted to keep it simple and safe. Most people should be able to do these exercises to relieve shoulder pain after injury and surgery. These are also effective if you are trying to prevent shoulder injuries or just improve shoulder strength.
Shoulder pain exercises
In this exercise I show you another position for strengthening the shoulder blade muscles. Laying on your stomach on a bench or edge of the bed with or without a small weight (1-3 lbs.). This position forces you to maintain the alignment of the spine/back and it prevents you from cheating. These shoulder pain exercises force you to really target, your rhomboids, trapezius, posterior deltoids and other back/arm muscles.
Keep in mind to keep the weight low so you can maintain your form and avoid cheating. This is a tough exercise when done correctly so you don’t need heavy weights. Focus on high repetitions (20-40 repetitions) so you can build endurance.
