Hi everyone in this video I am going to answer some questions about knee pain treatment that a lot of my viewers and patients have been asking about.
I will be discussing some key concepts to keep in mind for preventing knee pain and knee pain treatment. There are some basic principles you can use to help you recover faster after knee injuries. These principles will help you effective manage all sorts of knee problems ranging from ACL, LCL or MCL ligament injuries or strains, meniscus strain or tears, patello-femoral injuries, patellar tendonitis and knee arthritis.
Knee Pain Treatment Principles
1. Unload the injured joint – use crutches, cane, walker, knee brace or ace bandage. Avoid weight bearing activities like walking, standing, squatting, etc.
2. Avoid aggravating activities – whether static positions or movements that cause pain.
3. Massage, use heat, take herbal formulations to improve circulation to the knee joint, reduce inflammation and relieve pain.
4. Start with non-weight bearing knee exercises and slowing increase weight bearing activities.
5. Ayurvedic herbal formulas like Yograj Guggulu, Ashwagandha can be very helpful for healing the joint.
